I completed a four-year Clinical Chemistry residency following graduating from the School of Medicine in Turkey. Following my tenure, I became a full professor of Medical Biochemistry.
I have taught medical and nutritional biochemistry, biology and molecular biology, physiology, and clinical chemistry at medicine, dentistry, nursing, science, and health science schools and managed hospitals and internationally accredited clinic chemistry laboratories for 20 years. Upon my experience, I wrote textbooks which are Medical Biochemistry, Clinical Chemistry, Analysis Methods in Clinical Chemistry, and Laboratory Instruments.
I conducted numerous research projects in Turkey, Germany, and the United States. First, I worked on lipid metabolism and atherosclerosis, then focused on lipid-related cancer chemotherapy. I have more than 100 publications, and they have been cited/discussed hundreds of times in international, peer-reviewed scientific magazines.
After coming to the US, I researched at the University of California, Davis. My research was mainly focused on developing a new nano-formulation for cancer chemotherapy. Then, I taught various courses at St. Cloud State University, Northwestern Health Sciences University, Metropolitan State University, and the College of Science, 91勛圖厙.
Currently, I am working at the College of Pharmacy. I teach Pathophysiology in the pharmacy, Anatomy/Physiology in the PA, and Clinical Chemistry in the MLS programs.
