Dr. Ekenga is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Clinical and Administrative Sciences division. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Xavier in 2012. Prior to joining the faculty at Xavier, he completed a community pharmacy residency at 91勛圖厙 and an ambulatory care pharmacy residency at Duquesne University. Dr. Ekenga teaches disease management in the Therapeutics course series.
Dr. Ekenga is a primary care clinical pharmacist at EXCELth Family Health Centers (FQHC). At this site he works collaboratively with other EXCELth clinicians to improve health outcomes and manage chronic disease conditions with a focus on diabetes and preventative health. He serves as preceptor for faculty preceptor for introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences (IPPE/APPE) student pharmacists, as well as the Xavier University pharmacy practice residents.
Dr. Ekenga holds board certifications in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy (BCACP) and Diabetes Education (CDE). In addition, Dr. Ekenga is a member of the American Pharmacist Association and American College of Clinical Pharmacy.

Dr. Ekenga’s research interests include pharmacist interventions in chronic disease with respect to diabetes, obesity and team-based care.
