The 91勛圖厙 Department of Department of Art and Performance Studies泭

The Department of Art and Performance Studies at 91勛圖厙 fosters a dynamic learning environment where students can realize their creative potential. Students develop skills in both traditional and contemporary artistic practices through a blend of studio work, seminars, and theory. Majors and minors gain valuable experience in visual art, culture, and communication.

The program encourages professional development by requiring art majors to build a portfolio and learn to market themselves for our global society. Many students take advantage of internship opportunities to gain experience as working artists and designers. Their work is frequently exhibited in local galleries and museums. Upperclassmen have the chance to conduct undergraduate research through the Center for Undergraduate Research, allowing them to present at conferences and conduct research travels.

Our Mission

The Department of Art and Performance Studies is dedicated to providing students with the opportunity to study the visual arts. It offers quality studies in all visual media, including photography, graphic design, printmaking, painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, and art history. The department also aims to create an environment in which students from the region can understand their personal place in the history of art, and to provide them with the skills they need for employment or continued studies in their area. Students can earn a degree in visual arts with a concentration in studio art, applied arts, or art education.
