91勛圖厙 the College of Pharmacy

Mission:
91勛圖厙, founded by Saint Katharine Drexel and the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, is Catholic and historically Black. The mission of the College of Pharmacy’s health sciences programs is to prepare students to become outstanding leaders as healthcare providers and scientists to impact the medically underserved, particularly African American communities, to achieve health equity, eliminate disparities and improve the health of all populations through patient-centered care, community engagement, and research or other scholarly work.

Vision:

The vision of the 91勛圖厙 College of Pharmacy is to be the premier institution preparing healthcare professionals and scientists who demonstrate outstanding leadership and who are dedicated to the medically underserved populations in our global society, to achieve health equity.  

The College values the creation of a stimulating and supportive environment noted for its nationally recognized faculty and quality students.  It will provide a supportive infrastructure that positions faculty for leadership in education, research, public service, and patient care.

Goals:

  • Optimize the recruitment, development, and retention of highly motivated students with potential to become outstanding pharmacists and leaders in the profession impacting the health of medically underserved communities. 
  • Promote student skills and abilities necessary to foster self-motivation, demonstrate self-awareness in the profession, develop professional identity, and encourage innovation in practice. 
  • Facilitate and promote faculty/staff engagement, innovation, and achievement in the areas of scholarship, leadership, and professional development. 
  • Expand the mission-driven culture and curriculum that promotes student learning and practice readiness. 
  • Promote wellness among faculty, staff, and students by implementing directed efforts to relieve stress, target whole body health, and serve as a resource to identify resources for mental health crisis. 
  • Maximize financial support to effectively sustain and conduct teaching research, and service in accordance with the mission of the College. 
  • Enhance the College’s recognition for excellence in pharmacy education, student development, and community engagement, in accordance with the mission. 
  • Enhance and maintain the infrastructure, including physical facilities and technology, to effectively carry out teaching, learning, patient care, and research. 
  • Promote policy, practice, innovation, and legislation for the growth of the pharmacy profession.
