CURGO was established to elevate the undergraduate research experience and to streamline students' transition into graduate or professional-level studies. We foster collaborations between students and faculty while offering comprehensive resources to fuel intellectual journeys.

The Center for Undergraduate Research and Graduate Opportunity(CURGO)is dedicated to fostering a culture of research and academic excellence among all students and all disciplines. Our mission is to provide a supportive environment, resources, and opportunities that empower students to engage in research, pursue graduate education, and become leaders in their respective fields.

Vision 

CURGO strives to be a premier center focused on undergraduate research and graduate school preparation, recognized for its commitment to promoting scholarly inquiry, intellectual growth, and professional development. We envision partnering with faculty, staff, administrators, and other higher education institutions to build a strong pipeline of opportunities for students who aspire to pursue graduate/professional degrees.

McNair Scholars TRiO Program

The McNair Scholars Program provides participating students with a range of resources and opportunities to develop skills, knowledge, and research experience necessary for pursuing advanced degrees. The resources include mentorship, research opportunities, and financial assistance. The program aims to cultivate a supportive and inclusive environment where students can explore their research interests, engage in scholarly activities, and receive guidance from faculty mentors who share similar research backgrounds.

GRADStar Scholars Two- Track Programs

Do you want to get involved in research as a first-year student?

The GRADStar Pathway program can help! This program provides first-year students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in research. We offer a structured process of skills-building and enrichment activities, as well as an introduction to the research process through signature projects.

Are you a Sophomore or Junior looking to engage in mentored research at Xavier University?

The GRADStar Scholars Two-Track Program is an excellent opportunity for sophomores and juniors to get involved in on-campus research with Xavier's faculty. The program provides funding for students to conduct research throughout the academic year, and it's a great way to gain valuable research experience.
